Well, Thanks God he had met with Ron and the Weasleys who love him like a son or a brother. He's one of the family. I sometimes imagine that Mrs Weasley loves him more than her own kids themselves.

That's totally right. Ron always felt lesser than his siblings, Harry and Hermione. Harry as he's an orphan, got Mrs Weasley full attention and care and that's quite normal but as he's the chosen one the boy who lived even Malfoy once made a snide comment about Ron being Harry's side kick. All these some how got their way to Ron's heart making him feel jealous and little.

In my culture, Ron would be given more attention as the youngest of the boys but Ginny would be everyone's favorite because she's the youngest. The eldest are usually everyone's favorite at first but once the others come, they're forgotten (I'm the eldest btw).
Ron's insecurities stem from the divided attention of having siblings by his parents + having a very famous best friend. __________________

^ Yeah, you have older brothers and you're the only girl and literally like Ginny.
In a way, Ron is Harry's sidekick because everyone paid more attention to Harry because of his infamous scar. So I can definitely see where his insecurities come from. __________________
