I'd like to believe they took turns. During Harry's 4th year, it was at Hogwarts. I also want to know if they hold the Triwizard tournament annually or is it like the World Cup,, every 4 years?

I'll read up on this. I don't think they elaborated about this in the books which is fine of course. Hogwarts is the main setting for the books.

And for sure after Cedric's death, they got stricter about the Triwizard Tournament. Maybe upon the death of Voldemort, they were more lax about it?

For sure. Plus Cedric's death was the first time that a student died during a Triwizard Tournament so that's a wake up call.

And tournaments are supposed to foster camaraderie and a fun environment. Not result in death.

When I first read about that I was shocked. I'm sure the Triwizard Tournament has always been safe for students but that particular year, and because of Voldemort's 'return', it turned tragic.

I remember when I read the book and I was like wow, so cool up to his death.. I was shock..

HAHA! And like I said on our discussions here, the third task was the scariest for me because I don't like not knowing if there's an exit or not knowing where I'm going (that's why I don't want to go caving ever again). The movie captured that nervousness I had while reading the book.
