How can Buffy not be ruined for other men and vice versa after that.

I mean the shooting script for Wrecked says Spike is the best sex ever had but not in those words.

It's in her thoughts.

That's makes it Canon.

The way Buffy is drawn to Spike is something that's actually always been there.

It makes me think how in LW when Spuffy and Angel are like in their own world bickering and Angel is just walking in the background.

That's a good example b/c it really isn't about Buffy just fighting him b/c it's the thing to do in the moment when he is still evil.

Plus even later when he is chipped and harmless any time Spike shows up Buffy would most of the time stop what she was doing or even saying when he was there right that minute.

I have no idea why I'm rambling about this.

I've actually not thought of it like this before b/c it does go both ways and not surprising with Spike since we know how he felt. Buffy enjoyed being around him and fighting/ bantering with him even though she acted annoyed.

I think that is something Riley did notice and partly why he felt threatened by Spike. He knew how to push her buttons. I guess Riley wasn't as stupid as we like to think he was.

I remember a quote actually from James talking about Spuffy and this.

James: If someone really gets under your skin ask yourself why?

And Spike defintely did do that. Despite Buffy resistance to it lol

After watching Hannibal, I can honestly say that Buffy had less reason not to fall in love with Spike than Will did with Hannibal.

Spike was Buffy's enemy because he was a vampire and soulless and killed humans but it was never personal. He never betrayed or violated or terrorized her those years prior to them getting together. She said she hated him but it wasn't true. Annoyance, frustration, distaste, reluctant allure, those are what Buffy felt for Spike. There are very few people that Buffy ever truly hated. It is usually someone that started off as an ally and turned against her. Faith, for example.

Jaime, you are right that Spike never faded into the background with Buffy. He's that person she just has to debate. She has to get the last word in. She has to hear what he has to say even if she thinks she's not going to like it. She can't ignore him. His words in the beginning didn't hurt her. It was similiar to the way that I occasionally read a book by an intelligent author I know I'll disagree with. If the author had been idiotic I wouldn't bother but the fact that they are so clever but oh so clearly wrong in their stance makes it fun to engage.

Tee, are you asking my opinion on Will falling in love with Hannibal?

Those gifts! Spike was so afraid to even touch her. She wanted to feel fire again but for him, she was fire.

Even after seeing them in the throws of passion, I still look at that moment when he tried to kiss her in FFL and wonder how it would've been if she hadn't of pulled away so fast. What he would've done. How he would've reacted if she had looked at him differently and hadn't of asked "what the hell are you doing?" If he wouldn't of jumped back into the metaphor of the "dance".

That manip is so well done. It really looks like they are in the kitchen together laughing and enjoying themselves. They look so couple-y.

I wish he had just grabbed her face and kissed her.

I bet Buffy would have kissed back.

Underrated scene.

That last line though. "be funny if they did" so full of meta

It would be funny if she was forced to evaluate her feelings for him the way he was with her when he became unable to kill humans?

It would be funny if they shared something nobody else in the world did?

It would be funny if she felt as impotent as him? The vampire that couldn't suck and the Slayer that couldn't stake.

It would be funny if the humans turned against her the way that the demon world turned against him?

It would be funny if he felt like the reason she didn't kill him was because she literally couldn't and not because she saw him as a neutered nonthreat?

It would be funny if the chip opened up her darkness the way his chip opened up his light?

back on that FFL almost kiss. Imagine if Buffy had cheated on Riley with Spike. And like in S6, tried to keep it to just sex with Spike wanting more.

Interesting thoughts.

There is a recent fic with the Initiative capturing Buffy and Spike saving her. They rape her too.

I think it was made clear that Buffy could never kill Spike when she didn't after he tried to get the chip removed.

I have so many fics with that last scenario over the years.

Oh, Buffy had many reasons for not killing Spike. Many of which she wouldn't want to think too hard about since it was a long time before she could admit she liked hanging out with him and even longer to realize it was because of him and not despite of him.

But I think part of Spike thought losing his bite led to Buffy thinking less of him. He didn't feel like her equal anymore.
