I think so as well. I just think it is not healthy to always live in a dream of what could have been. She does not even know Angel anymore. They both chose to walk away and never come back. They keep holding each other back. They can always love each other in a way, but they cannot hurt other people they have real relationship with because of the old memories. This is my biggest issue with BA.

They proved they aren't right for each other.

They were never there for each other or understood each other.

I think they understood each other, but only on the surface. Becasue they never truly showed each other who they really are. Buffy was a lively school girl in front of Angel and he never saw her dark moments and never knew her as a woman desperate for money and raising her teen sister on her own. Just as Buffy never saw all the Angel's downfalls. And I don't believe you can be a mature love unless you see the bright and dark sides of each other's lives.

They never opened up to each other to show all their sides either.

I agree.

He was still insecure. Deep inside he was afraid to be rejected. I know that we didn't get Spuffy only because SMG could not come to ATS. But I believe that they found their way back to each other after the series where over.
