I like how the green stands out without overpowering the background colors.

If you are unfamiliar with their previous customisation it looked like this. As you can see they are very similar, however the colours are more muted now. That would be all we would try to do here .

Ahh, the background color isn't as dark as before.

Yes. The greens and purples are lighter as well. For here it would just be the same colours you have now, only lighter (or darker) versions of them to keep the same feel and look but to make them easier on the eyes . And of course a new graphic.

We have now finished making all the graphics and the Graphics Team are going to vote on a winner, so this thread will now be closed until the colours and graphic have been set up - then we will re-open it so you can tell us what you all think!

Maybe I've been oblivious, but did we always have red "reply to thread" and "post new thread" buttons? The background theme colors have toned down, so headers and the buttons are what catch my eye

Uhm, probably not. We change the buttons as well to fit with the entire customization. I believe your buttons were a very bright colour? I'm not sure.
