I was an off an on watcher. When catching up with the reruns, I was surprised to find out Rory and Lorelai didn't talk to each other for five months. That is a long time not to talk with someone your close with. LG has a book in the bookstore and she said she wasn't crazy about the rift between them

I don’t blame her one bit! That’s such a sweet backstory to that scene and makes their reunion even more special.
