For some reason, because everything was so messed up the first time around, it makes me nervous to see more Lorelai/April/Luke/Rory scenes. It just changes the dynamic. But it would only make sense, because, like Mel said, Lorelai is practically her stepmom.

It would make sense yes though I do wonder if April is really away for college or work or something like that how much she'll be in Stars Hollow. It's not where she grew up.

I think she'd be in college now. And being the brain that she is, unless she went to Yale, she wouldn't be in the area? And Luke only got to see her a few times a year. I don't know. I think she's a big part of Luke's life but they just don't see each other much? So it would make sense she would have her own life.
It all really depends on those years before she went off to college, after the show ended. If for some reason she lived with Luke for an extended time or whatever, that might change things. __________________

yeah like most college people do. I don't think she's at Yale. I think she's going where the best program for her is.
yeah we don't know if she lived with Luke for a bit of time after S7 no. __________________

I don't know how much time she got to spend with him between the ages of 12 and 18. And New Mexico isn't exactly close by and April was really enjoying it there.
 I think she might just see Luke as the guy that gave her 50% of her DNA and she likes hanging out with him, but no more or less than Rory does with Christopher? Even though Luke is not such a loser as a dad.  __________________

Well Luke and Anna have shared custody (no?) which means April would have to split time evenly between the two and then once she turned 18 she could choose for herself where she wanted to be. Or maybe even at 16 they have the choice. I know the kids can petition to live with a certain parent if they really want to.

Well if she has similar aspirations like Rory she probably had her sights set on an Ivy League or something. I don't see her staying in New Mexico for college/university. But yeah, at some point she does get a say in who she wants to live with. She just wouldn't have been old enough at the time of the trial.
That's also not split custody at all (that arrangement). Realistically Luke should have her for the whole summer in the very least. He hardly has her for two months when you add that all together. __________________
