I agree - they tried. I do remember picturing Penelope being slightly taller and slightly thinner in my head, but still voluptuous.

She's gorgeous in real life and they did try to make her the "ugly duckling "

She looks better as a blonde than a redhead, imo. Did Penelope have red hair in the book? I can't remember.
