I completely loved S2 more than S1. I loved the party and the whole thing around LGBTQ. Oh and has anyone read the books? So excited that Gilbert and Anne are on the way to their book lives!

Yeah I did read the first 3 books. They were my faves as kids and the mini series with Megan. I do enjoy the modern twists. I did think the one with Mr Philips was a little to out there it didn't fit his character. I am glad prissy left him in thisI hope ruby gets a happy ending I don't like her book fate but luckily we have a long time till we worry about it

I haven't seen the new series, I keep meaning too. But it's in my to do list.

I know they have changed a good amount from the original story or at least took a different kind of interpretation from it. But it looks nicely shot and well acted and I like that they have kid characters being played by kids. Instead of some 18+ year old playing someone much younger.

I understand why they have changed things or try new things out. But is that the reason that people aren't as happy or something else. Because it looks delightful, so I don't understand why it's not getting more love.

It does get a lot of love imo it just very few critical reviews.

First everytime there is changes to a source material there is always purists who don't like the changes I have seen that with ouat, gossip girl, and Arrow. I have issues with all 3 shows Arrow and Gg more but it was more the show writers choices not they deviated from the source material

A second reason is the darkness like Anne has always been this happy girl in the books and her using her imagination to cope with her PTSD might rob some people the wrong way. I personally think the show does a good job of balancing light and dark but I was just playing Devils advocate

It's been a long time since I've read the books and seen the mini-series. But I get why they have almost everything perfect when she came to Avonlea. She was an escapement for many, a sweet happiness filled with imagination and the strength of spirit.

But even though I haven't seen it yet, I'm glad they are addressing some of the darkness of that time and what she went through. Her parents died young, I don't think she has any memories of them other than they were teachers I believe and she adores their names. Than she is bounced around from home to home and basically used as a servant and nanny for most of her young life. She's a skinny child whose been mistreated, probably underfed, used, abused, and not given any proper love. All that doesn't go away, just because she now has a good home.
