I agree. And I think Melisandre knows that so she took advantage. Davos can't do anything about it.

Melissandre really was an opportunist
And Davos way too smart and noticed it soon, as he never liked her __________________

I too didn't like Melisandre and even when she saved Jon, I feel like she did that because she has no other choice.

Yeah And in that moment she had lost that somehow I think she didn't even believe in her powers. To me it felt like she did it because she had nowhere else to go and the eyes were on her to try to do something

Yeah in a way she was probably pressured to at least do something otherwise she'd get executed. It's also anticlimactic how she died and that she was only used later on to progress a SL. I guess in a way it made us not hate the character but with our re-watch, I'm remembering how vile Melisandre really is.

^ I found her death so pointless... I would rather if one of the WW had killed her or something
She really was a despicable woman! __________________

She also just sort of appeared at the Wall that time. I actually forgot what happened to Melisandre in S5.

That's the season she lead Stannis to attack Winterfell/Ramsay, and convinced him to sacrifice Shireen

Oh shoot yeah now I remember. It will be horrible to re-watch that ep again. They didn't show it right? Although I think we can hear her screams (which is also just as worse)?

It's really terrible how she died. And now with our re-watch, we're getting a lot of really nice scenes with Shireen & Davos so this is all making me sad.

They really know how to make us love a character, just to have them die horribly and break our hearts

Same thing with Oberyn. Tbh at first I was like "who the hell is he?" and then I started to like him and he was Tyrion's champion and then...

^ same here When he first appeared I was thinking hard to try to remember if I had seen him before. I liked his speeches, he seemed like a more dangerous version of Tyrion

He's also a bit arrogant. Right now with our re-watch, I'm just lukewarm to him: I don't like him yet but I don't hate him either. I do want to see more scenes with him & Tyrion. I feel like Oberyn probably treats Tyrion differently than Cersei, Jaime & Tywin.
