There weren't a lot of good candidates so to speak and Bran seems to be the only decent choice but imo him being king was so out of the blue because there was no indication in the past seasons that he wanted to rule.

He actually refused any sort of position that he could be a ruler, always saying that as a Three-Eyed Raven he was like above those things... and then during that meeting to decide who was going to be king he was all "why do you think I came here" or something like that :eyeroll:

EXACTLY. I was so surprised. I would've been okay with it if throughout the season, we see Bran wanting to rule kind of like with Sansa.

Or if he at least argued that he didn't want it... but the way it was done, it felt like he did it on purpose (like manipulated everything to get to that result)

Yeah it looked like he fully accepted it and disregarded Jon, his family. If I was Bran, I would argue that Jon deserves it even if he killed Dany and the Council can talk about that. But them choosing Bran over Jon is what I don't get.

It was so weird!!! Everybody hated Tyrion, but accepted his suggestion without even trying to argue against it...

Honestly that part of the finale was a blur to me because I was incredulous that Bran was the king. And then they decided to banish Jon. After everything that he has done for all of them that was their decision. Killing Dany was way worse than all of the good deeds that he has done. Okay.

However I am happy for the ending that Davos got. At least they did him right.

Oh yeah we didn't get any Jon & Davos scene anymore after the fight with Cersei. UGH. Another disappointing thing about S8.

They had had such a great relationship build up... I really think they could've at least give us a little scene between them

What a mess some of the storylines are. It's like they were rushed to all fit into S8. And then they expect us to be okay with it.

^ I think that is exactly what happened.
I think it was OOC for Davos to be all happy being part of the Small Council without even mentioning Jon one time __________________

Right because we saw in past episodes how he was fond of Jon and believed in him.
