I just remembered that I think I'm in the minority with Batman Begins. Everyone praises it for saving Batman after "Batman and Robin" but I personally always and still find the movie boring lol. I do think TDK and TDKR are better than Batman Begins. Batman Returns and The Batman are my favorite Batman films overall right now. I love Batman 89' too, but I also grew up with Batman Returns (Didn't see the first film until I was grown, which is crazy but I didn't really care at the time) and was obsessed with that film my whole life lol. I can't wait to see what more they do with The Batman film series, I think it will be one of the greats too.

I wonder if those comics based on the 89 movie will also be canon for his appearances in the flash and batgirl?

I think it could be seen as the second original canon to his Batman pre-Flash, and Batgirl as the new canon to his Batman post-Flash.

I easily agree! To be honest, I never like Penguin that much in general, but DD's portrayal of him in Batman Returns was great and my favorite version of his character. I was even a little sad when he died in the film and the penguins pushed him in the water.

Definitely agree, he was a real penguin. Colin just looks like a random dude tbh. Has like zero of the character.

I agree. He didn't even look like a penguin, just a normal guy lol. If he's in more films, maybe they can build him up to the Penguin he's meant to be but so far I'm not impressed.

Still not seen the film but it seems in this batman film most characters are just random people and have little of their comic counterparts.

That does make me curious how more villains will look since The Batman is more realistic. I guess that was easy with The Riddler, Catwoman, and Penguin. They better not normalize certain villains too much lol.

Yeah this is one reason why I've been a bit hesitant watching this movie since we got the first trailer back then. I prefer comic accuracy over realism.

I've also heard people say things like Catwoman and Penguin aren't fully their characters yet or something like that (and I guess that is why Catwoman didn't really have a cat suit yet) so maybe that is one of the reasons for the normalcy. I can't wait to see what they do with other villains though cause I still think they did a great job with The Riddler and Catwoman.
