I can see why in his mind he believed he SHOULD see her as a sister though. lol Because he lived with the Camdens and stuff... so I can see why in his mind he believes he should treat her more as a sister which is why he ever ruled out any chance of having any romantic feelings towards her.

Of course and probably it was because Ruthie was 2 years younger, if probably she was his age, it would've been different.

I think his conversation with Mac summed it up during season 9, when he mentioned eventually Ruthie will grow up.
