Trailers always use these type of lines to sound more dramatic. I guess it's worked because it's got people talking about it even though it's being completely blown out of proportion

After all they have been through, Mike can be referring to the monsters they had to fight. A way of "I know what´s out there and i can defend myself."

Will and the others look even more confident and everything.

Oh, for sure. I definitely got the vibe in Season 2 that Mike was maturing quicker than the rest of the kids, mostly due to his concern for El's whereabouts but also watching Will's possession, and I do think we'll be seeing the results of his emotional development more in S3.

yeah, out of everyone had the most at risk in s2. he's closest to Will and he was afraid he'd lose El again when she had to fight the monster, so he's definitely gonna be more serious about everything

Fans seem to be worried about the notion of watching these kids grow up on screen (I guess it's nostalgia for the early days), but to me it's great and all part of what storytelling should be.

I don't get it either. Jonathan has always been an essential character in balancing between vulnerability and strength - never readily engaging in violence but doing so when necessary. Adores his family and worships the ground Nancy walks on... Why anyone would think he's anything close to expendable (especially given Charlie Heaton's acting talent) is beyond me
