i did too. but i think there was suppose to be a little bit of a time jump there. but even still i wouldnt have trusted him

I definitely think the writers took advantage of time jumps to progress beyond conflicts and it enabled them to evolve Steve. I mean, one minute he's choosing a gang of bullies over Nancy then the next, he's on Jonathan's doorstep begging for her forgiveness.

What I'm wondering is, did Steve go there to see Jonathan or did he go there half expecting that Nancy would be there?

Same. Despite his change in attitude, I still don't think he was prepared to make peace with Jonathan

it took a whole other season for him to realize what a good guy Jonathan is and how unfair he had been to him.

Do you think they will end up doing the inevitable ST prequels to these characters one day (with younger actors, obviously)?

I will only accept it if we get to see Jonathan and Steve as kindergarden buddies.

For some reason, I picture them as like best buddies as children who separated the older they got and the more their personalities differed.

Jonathan's home life was tough and that probably was a main factor in him becoming so isolated

Sadly, Steve probably grew meaner in order to befriend/impress the jerks just to cope in high school.
