How have other shows compared in that time slot for ABC? I don't know what kind of numbers the network would be happy with.

Me neither but I hope it is better than most other ABC shows.

I don't think it's doing as well as Castle was last season in the timeslot last season but ABC is struggling quite a bit at the moment so who knows what they would be happy with right now.

I don't think they are included in the initial ratings but that the networks do place a lot of importance on them.

"Alias" (my all-time favorite show & where Merrin pretty much got her start! ) was a HUGE success with critics, but the ratings just were never solid enough for ABC and they eventually cancelled it after 4 seasons (Season 5 was the last). I don't understand why some shows are such a huge success ("2 Broke Girls"? Really? ) and others aren't.

I thought Alias started out with good ratings? I'm just glad that it got that many seasons. It was a great show. I'm with you Jessica, there are a lot of shows that make me question people's taste. 2 Broke Girls is one of them.

Sometimes high ratings don't even save a show, there have been many shows cancelled with great ratings. For me I don't get why Mistresses lasted so long. I thought that show was absolute crap, so it's about time it got canned IMO.

Yeah, I think a lot of things factor into whether a show gets renewed or not. There are more than a few shows I could name where I don't understand their success.

That show finally got axed? Thank goodness! Just the name of the show was terrible in itself.

Yeah I heard it got cancelled. The show didn't deserve four seasons when better shows have gotten less.

Not sure of the exact numbers but I think the rating were pretty steady last night. Not great but not awful.
