So what are everyone's picks for SkateAm?

I think it's pretty obvious M/C will take top honours but that leaves the other two spots. Personally I think it will be:
1. M/C
2. C/P
3. S/S or W/P (this is changeable as the homecrowd may throw in an advantage for S/S to bring them up to 3rd)

Umm well I don't know the last two teams but I like Crone and Poirier so hopefully they'll win something

Are Fedor and his partner competing as Skate America? I thought they would be at SC but no one ever mentioned them so I'm guessing they weren't

S/S are the Shibutanis and W/P are Weaver and Poje, a Canadian team.

If Fedor and Jana are smart competitors they would not compete this season and continue their build up to next season, just my opinion.

Oh. duh I knew that. I hope the Shibutanis win 3rd That would be pretty neat in their first year at the senior level.

Jana and Fedor may compete in a single GP event this season, of course being CoR but I doubt that they will. At the moment, the focus needs to be on the partnership rather than programs etc so hopefully we will see them next season!!

Oh-Canada

Yeah it'll definitely be Marlie & C/P first and second. I guess W/P have a slight advantage over S/S since they won they silver at NHK. But anything can happen, and like you said the home crowd could help S/S. It should be interesting!

Jana & Fedor don't have any GPs because they are unranked. The Russian fed could've invited them to CoR, but there are already 3 Russian teams competing there.
I have no idea what's going to happen with them tbh. It still seems weird to me

It would be interesting if the Shibs did beat W/P. It will be down to politics again I think unless one of them lays down an awful performance.

Jana and Fedor, I've said before, are really trying to build an image. Everything we've heard from that camp has been about how good their connection is and how fabulous he is picking up ice dance. Sure, whatever in regards to their connection, from all the photos I just don't see it. But, in regards to his ice dancing (and I think I may have said this ages ago) but Fedor does know ice dance no matter how much that camp is saying he doesn't. It's about the image they wish to present. If they come out and put down solid programs, it's in their favour to say that he hasn't done ice dance before. It makes it that much more 'wow- worthy'. However, the fact is that he does know ice dance, but the camp want to portray a certain image that will work in their favour. Just my opinion. In this sense I think they'll wait till next season. It would work more in their favour to develop their partnership and programs.
Don't know how much of a chance they'd have at doing well in competitions either.

It's been pretty heavy-handed, I think. And then a lot of it coming from Marina herself makes it even more hilarious.
