I am very sure that they never liked Madison as a character, never understood her "emotionless persona" and never liked the family drama. Most of the changes made here, are all on them and Gimlple.

Season 5 is weak, but I thought that Season 4 was decent overall. It kind of disappoints me when people put them in the same category of quality. I liked Al's character, John's character, the Alicia/Charlie bond (never seen anything like it on TV before), Morgan's characterization, the John/Morgan friendship, and the John/June romance.

I certainly wasn't impressed with everything, though. I'll admit that I only liked about half of the episodes.

Season 5...ugh. So dull. "Let's have the gang chase all of these boring new characters while we barely use any of the most interesting parts from last season."

Not all is bad. I also like John a lot. And I like Al (when she is not annoying and wants to film everything in order to bring others in danger). I also liked this Mel dude villain in season 4. But somehow it all feels not well thought, and not executed as good as Seasons 1-3.

I agree, Season 5 is much worse than Season 4.

Agree with all you said. Season 1-3 got constantly better, season 4 was less food but had food moments and Alicia was still important. Now in season 5 it‘s utter nonsense. Same happened on nashville, while season 4 of the show was not good but still interesting concerning hayden panettiere‘s character, season 5 was super dull and utter nonsense and hayden‘s character lost all her strength and sassiness. Nashville got cancelled after it‘s 6th season.

I think that Al's filming habit is one of the most interesting things about her, as long as the writers don't overdo it.

That's one compliment I can give S4 -- almost everyone in the group has SOMETHING interesting about them. The exceptions, IMO, were Sarah, Wendell, and, of course, Luciana.

The action in S4 was pretty good too.

The show really lost its way in S5.
