^Because it's a southern accent it's not so weird for me because the south have that same sort of lilting speech pattern that Brits have. What's really weird is hearing him speak with a non-southern American accent.

I have no idea yet I am 40 minutes into the movie and have yet to see him

But as a Dutch person, I'm not the one to determine if the accent is good

I'd say it was passable. I'm not sure if I was biased because I know already what his usual accent is, but it didn't feel entirely natural. It wasn't super bad though. I'm sure you know what I mean. Like when an American pretends to be a Brit and the accent is pretty good but you just can tell it's not their usual accent.

Won't be watching it again, but it was nice to have seen
Dang, Meryl Streep was unlikable

I get what you mean Rae, I thought his voice/accent sounded a bit unnatural/non-fluent in general, but I took it as to be part of his character

There wasn't much of Ben in the movie, but what there was he did a good job at
I just want to know if Ivy and him went to New York or not. I need closure dang it

^ SAME! I wanted to know what happened!? And it was probably the first time I've ever shipped incest. I was like "DANGIT!!"


And yeah, it's not the sort of movie I would watch all the time. It's too heavy. But all the acting was top knotch.

As for Ben's character, I do think he's supposed to be slower, lower IQ or what-have-you, but even so the accent seemed...forced.

Oh no I didn't think he'd have slower IQ or something like it at all
First I figured some kind of autism, but then he didn't seem to have a problem with displaying love and physical affection. So that didn't seem right.
But just something "off."

I was shipping them so hard I was just like: 'the dang woman had a hysterectomy, there's no need for her (and Charles) to know the truth, just leave 'em in the dark'.
