I think it's all about who Jamal is listening to. If he followed his heart, he would've been on great terms with Cookie in last episode..

so mad at Lucious! But I have a feeling that Jamal won't give up so easy on his family especially Cookie.
Because like he told, she's been there for him always, he had her attention, and Lucious is there for him only when it's good for him and his company.
I'm glad he mentioned that, now we know he's aware of it and knows it

Pretty much agree with you on all of that.
I think the important thing here is that Jamal realizes that cutting Cookie out of his life is not a wise decision.

You are definitely on point with Lucious, since he is a smart person he only accepting Jamal in when it was beneficial for him and his company, before that he really didn't care or accept for Jamal. Cookie was the one who believed in him, and pretty much pressed him to use his talent to the world. He was sort of underground in the first few episodes of Season 1.

But the fact that he realizes he's not a priority for Lucious and is used by him as he pleases is already a sign of things getting back on track soon

I agree, I think that is the important thing that Jamal realizes that he does need his mother and he understands that she is only one who was really there for him when he needed her.
I don't see (hopefully) Lucious keeping them a part for too long long.

I don't see it either, specially cause Lucious hasn't accepted Jamal at all, he just pretended to do so because it was convenient, and I think that'll become even more evident as the season plays out.

Sometimes people need to learn from their own mistakes. It's obvious that Jamal is one of those people.
The great thing though is that Jamal hasn't just forgot about Cookie, forgot that she's been there and that's what would probably bring them back together no matter how much Lucious doesn't want it.

I hope so! And even if he tries and would like to, I think he can't. Because Jamal isn't stupid, he will notice and he knows how much Cookie loves him no matter they're trying to start a new company and new business now
