Deer doesn't sound like pair at all, but it could turn out to be a play on that based on episode context. Like if there's some sort of deer in that episode that is a symbol of courage or loud mouthed-ness, then maybe Toby or someone would tell someone else to "grow a deer," but it would really need to be contextual. Nothing we can tell from just the title alone - like Djibouti Call was obvious, but this isn't.

That could explain it. And even if "deer" and "pair" don't sound all the much alike, the phrases have the same cadence and sometimes that's all it takes.
