Aside from a few years in San Antonio when I was too young to remember, I've never lived this far from water. There are a few small lakes around, so I may have to go exploring and see if any of them have public access areas.

I'm going back to see my surgeon's PA tomorrow for a 6 week checkup on my hand. I'm hoping there's still a good deal of healing to expect because although I can function with it, the incision sites are still very tender and get very sore.

I was putting together a new log bin for my woodstove. It literally has 3 pieces, besides the bolts - a bottom and two sides. It took me over an hour to put the dang thing together.

Okay that specifically I could do, but due to what it is and not due to how many pieces, since I've put those together before.

It actually should have been very easy, but the bottom piece had a very slight bend on one edge. Because of that, the side piece didn't line up very well with the bottom and it was almost impossible to get the screws in.

A very, very, very good friend of mine who I have not seen in more than 900 days is about 12 hours from landing in my city.

One of the local TV stations asked me for an interview today. They wanted to know what it was like being in DC on and after 9/11. It's very weird to think it's been twenty years.

A friend of mine, her mom works on Wall Street (and did back then, too). She was supposed to work a half day that day (the afternoon) so she wasn't down there at the time. She didn't work in the World Trade Center so she probably would have been okay if she'd been in the office, but she still would have been pretty much right there.

Roxanne and I watched Come From Away on Apple TV on Saturday. She'd seen it in theaters, and I was supposed to last year before covid ruined that. It was (and still is, I still hope to see it) the top on my list of shows I wanted to see, so I'm really happy that they filmed it and made it available.
