The experience of going to a game is so much different than watching on television. I guess part of it is the effect of the crowd - everyone cheering and such makes it more fun. Even on television it's a lot more fun with a group - or even just one other person. I rarely watched sports before, but I love watching football and basketball with my brother.

I can't get interested in most sports, even in person, and then there's some sports I'll watch on TV, in person, my phone, whatever (horse racing, beach volleyball, swimming and snowboard cross mainly). But hockey? Depending on if I'm there or not, it's very hot and cold.

I've gotten to the point that, if I'm going to watch a sport, I'd much rather watch it on television. Being there means dealing with the big crowds; the hassle of getting there, parking, etc. And then no matter how good the seats are, you won't see things as good as you see them on television.
The US Figure Skating Championships are being held just about 40 miles from me, and tickets are not very expensive. It was tempting, but I think I enjoyed it much more curled up in my den. __________________

That's how I feel about basketball, but with hockey, a lot of what I like about it is the sounds, and you can't get that experience on TV.

Went to a potluck meeting of the community travel club today. Made WAY too much chicken pesto. Fortunately, my neighbor is the president of the club and she has her son and his family visiting right now. She was more than pleased to take the leftovers off my hands.

It's okay. Last night my brother invited me over for dinner and we ordered food from the local Italian restaurant which is A-MAZ-ING! I had Spaghetti Carbonara. YUM! And I have enough left for lunch today.

I ate out TWICE today!
 I wanted to do breakfast for my birthday, and my parents had initially said no, we have to do dinner because that's when my sister and fiance could make it to town. I...don't want to say threw a fit because I didn't, but I did say "you said we could go wherever I wanted, and I want to go the same breakfast place we've been going to on my birthday for years." So...we did both. __________________
