You are correct. This is the oldest AC to date. Which is exciting in itself. Saying it's aware of its early civilization so i wonder if that means more lawlessness or what.

They should have just made this a new ip since it barely resembles assassin's creed but i'm always up for ancient Greece

Nah, it will still link to the series' ancient race and Layla will be back to continue the present-day storyline.

It's not the first time for a non-assassin; in Rogue, the main character was a Templar!

Yeah, and you're barely an Assassins in AC 4

But like, why force this into the timeline? You already did the origin, maybe do another game building on origin (I havent finished it yet so I cant say if that's possible) but it feels like theyre just shoehorning Assassins creed into another game concept that could potentially be great.

Admittedly, I'm very cynical with AC games since Unity and Syndicate

It's two different teams working at the same time, so I think there's only so much crossover that they can do.

In my opinion, they seem to have taken the best of what Origins introduced and taken that further. I'm okay with it being an Assassin's Creed game in name only. The one we're used to got stale (they released 9 main games in 9 years).

I still prefer the last couple to the first few. I liked 1 and 2, but didn't really get hooked on the series until Brotherhood.

Yeah Syndicate and unity were really bland, and I'm really hyped for open world greece.
But as someone who was mildly interested in the present story, and the struggles of the Assassins. I wish theyd stop going back in time.

Well i can tell you that if they take too many years off in a row, they'll just end up rebooting the entire series. That's how things go now. It's weird.

'Assassin's Creed' Is Not Returning To Yearly Releases

We've only had consecutive ones now because of the year's break, they both had 3 years to work on them.

Agreed. I've already played Origins for over 50 hours. I might be finished by the time Odyssey comes out.
