I am not impressed with the Flash rating at all, I however have to wait to watch it but even the DVR rating are not impressive. I mean yeah 1.4 or even 1.0 is considered goodfor CW but it like it peaked and the crossover Arrow was the one that benifitted from it and it was higher last season.

hmm, I don't know. just looking at the numbers though the 1.4 seems pretty consistent with what it was getting last year. Even Gorilla Warfare though a little lower in numbers like some earlier and last year was around a 1.4.


Its kept steady, not gone up a lot sadly but holding steady, at least for now.

and it is the CW. A 1.4 to them is probably like Christmas

consistent yes that is good I think I'm bothered by the fact its does not do good in the DVR rating or live like they did last year. I was totally hoping for 1.6 on the crossover.

fair enough but also, it was in its first season. it is natural, to some degree, IMO, to perhaps have some disparity from season one to season two. there have been shows that powered thru of course and had a rapid climb, etc...

but there have also been plenty of shows that had a "sophomore" slump of sorts as people who had more interest in the initial novelty of the show or something like that turned away, etc.. or whatever.


so while I agree it'd be nicer to be at 1.6, etc... its still doing pretty well. could it be better, yes. but I don't think its much to get worried about at this point in time



plus, I'm trying to remember. What was it followed by something last year or did it follow something? if it had a lead in or had a different show following it that sometimes also causes a difference in some numbers, etc. I honestly can't remember

interesting that it slipped. Granted, it wasn't a huge slip but you still had Wally West's appearance, Snart coming back along with Trickster and WW, etc...

not worried about the show just an observation.

yeah. or Wally, Weather Wizard, Snart, etc... and I mean, I know its a time of the year where people are busy and what not, etc...

but still.

figured it would have been a little higher.

Yep, I'm sure it will be higher when the show returns. The Flash is solidly consistent ratings-wise.

I do wonder, though. Maybe because 2A was disappointing to a lot of people (myself included)?

maybe? hopefully? I was largely ok with most of 2A though was kind of disappointed in the mid-season finale.

just in terms of the reveal (Zoom's a speed force vampire?) I mean, a couple episodes back had Cisco not shot him it sure looked like Zoom was going to kill Barry. So, that part really didn't make a ton of sense outside of finding a way to make Wells (again to Barry) betray him right after forgiving him.


as for 2A... its hard to say. Not the same show, granted, but to compare a little to what crosses over with and most comparable on its network (Arrow)

Arrow had a big drop from Season 1 to Season 2(started out at 2.7 million and ended at 2.3) Season 3 pretty much held steady around 2.8

Even on episodes when the Flash dips in # of viewers, the Demo has shown tendency to stay very strong and generally speaking, the Demo is what most shows target anyways rather than pure #'s of viewers, I believe. Not that number of viewers don't matter but from what I've read and seen, its more about the demo largely.


If I had to guess I'd say there were a few factors in play:

1) Some people didn't like season 1
2) Some people didn't like Season 2 thus far
3) To me, shows, especially maybe on the CW, can have a sophomore "slump"
4) We're kind of getting saturated right now.

You've got Flash, Arrow, Gotham, Super girl, I know I'm forgetting shows... are going to had LoT, etc.

So its not the only game in town or one of the only games in town in this genre anymore either.

5) You might not have been happy about what you heard during the summer. Regarding your particular ship, your character, etc.

does it have the same show following it from last year, etc. Its the big push back on someone who ever would say that this ship drives down ratings and this ship drives up ratings is that something like that, while possible to some degree, is far too.. subjective and narrow IMO.

Not to mention what's it competing against in that time slot, is the time slot the same, etc., is it the first back from a hiatus, is it back a week and then go for a few more, etc.

I'm not at all concerned about the show. I feel like its better done then Arrow at this point frankly. I feel like it can in a number of different directions in its story and do just fine. after all, Arrows still around, with GB running things they're not going to cancel it until at worst its syndicated. And the demo would have to drop hugely and drastically for that to even be a consideration and I just can't see that happening, regardless of what they do.

Because to me it is well done and the characters are mostly relateable to me and likeable - if not always well developed all the way thru.
