Yes I would have loved for Daniel to be in the book somewhere even at the end as you said Heather with their meeting!

I think it would have been a great way to expand on their story. We didn't get enough onscreen and it's unlikely we'll ever get more flashbacks for them.

The Stable Boy was the episode that really got me interested in Regina's character. Up until then I just saw her as an evil character who does evil stuff. That episode was the first time I thought there is a more to this character than someone who is just evil.

I really enjoyed Regina even before but Stable Boy made me much more interested in her as well and she became my favorite character.. I must say I loved the first season (still my favorite) when I watched for the first time but I've enjoyed rewatching it much more when I already knew her backstory, when I knew why she became like this and even more when I knew what a progress she will make in the future and how much her relationship with all those people will get better...

Pre-Stable Boy episode, I really enjoyed Regina as the evil villain. Her EQ portrayal was perfection. But her first centic, featuring Daniel, got me actually invested in HER, followed by her remorse over Henry having eaten the apple turnover. S2 had me completely hooked with her redemption arc.

same. i mean i loved her character and i loved teh evil queen but after that episode we knew there was more to it. to her as a person. and i loved that they made the evil queen like that

I am not sure who would be my favorite character if Regina was just evil.... all the characters were well written in season 1 and when I watched it, I really enjoyed them all and probably did not have one that stood out for me the most... But after Stable Boy it changed... Even though even before I was really intrigued by Regina and it was clear she was not totally heartless, for exmple when she crushed Graham's heart or betrayed genie Lana played it like it was clear Regina was not happy doing it...
I love characters like this. __________________

In season 1 my favorite character was actually Bandit Snow. I didn't care much for Mary Margaret. I sort of liked Emma. I thought Regina was a good villain, but I don't think I really saw her as anything other than a villain until The Stable Boy. I can like villains, I loved Cruella, but I think you can only go so far with characters who are all villain.

Bandit snow is awesome.
And the episode when Snow and Charming met is one of my favorite episodes that is not Regina's centric.BTW it's intersting when I watched OUAT for the first time, I think I mostly saw it all through Emma's eyes (because we are supposed to root for the good guys) but it's little bit different when I rewatch it as Regina's fan... not that I don't see her as a villain, she definitely was but some things there are not so black or white like it could have seemed... __________________
