And yes he would kill her if he could. That's why Dom said liz was off limits when Red told him he wanted to excommunicate both of them.

But why is she off limits? Only because she is Dom's granddaughter? or is there another reason?

Exactly. He promised her. We don't know why he did and what it made such a deep connection but that's our Red... And I bet although he might have changed, that's something that he kept the same.

I think there is definitly more to it as well. Not just the promise he made to Katarina and Dom.
