The Ellie quote is awesome! And it hinted on who Tom really is... A spy that was doing his job. And as a spy, yes, you need to be a good actor

Paula, it's the same for me
I loved the Red and Liz relationship from the beginning. I never saw it romantically at any point, just as a father-daughter kind of relationship but it was fascinating to see Red caring for Liz so much without knowing why he would go so far to protect her and why he entered her life in general. And yes, then there was Tom and Red seemed to know so much about him and Liz's life. It was drawing me in from the first moment. Besides, the intelligence that Red possesses.One that made me crack up was the Aram one... "Thanks you, Aram. You're welcome." __________________

There are tons of great lines... Isn't it fascinating that I could fill the whole thread with the quotes of just one episode

Every single episode has all these great lines. It's really interesting that the creator did not see Red as being funny. And then they cast James Spader and the whole tone of the character changed. I read that he adds his own touches to some of the scripts.
