That gorgeous face demands success, I mean who wouldn't want to see him on a poster saying 'Cure Your Alzheimers'

Also, they can't have a storyline where Derek (or anyone) actually has a cure for Alzheimer's unless something like that happens in the real world. I know Grey's is fiction, but Alzheimer's is increasingly becoming a prominent health care issue as it's fatal and without a cure. NBC news just featured a report about how it's numbers are growing alarmingly. It would just be too "out there" for the show to do a cure on its own, like if someone found a cure for cancer in an hour drama.
Actually, it's pretty brilliant they had Mer mess up the trial so Derek ended up being not successful in finding a cure - it kept it real with the mess that Alzheimer's is truly creating in the world. __________________

^ That's also all true. If he did cure it, it would have to be a SL that started minimum next season and continued for a very long period of time in order to make it even at the very least bit believable.
Wouldn't that be favoritism Jaje, I'm not American so I'm not sure what kind of strings pulling presidents usually do. From where I stand if he got off and other Doctors found out about it, that would piss the entire system off. |

Yeah. You got a point. And millions are actually hoping to get a cure.

That's true, they like to give Derek's success. If he ever found a cure, would be whole package being Mer's knight in shining whatever. I mean, of course it would be for the benefit of millions of people and his reputation as a pioneer & neurosurgeon, but remember one of his top motivations is his wife.

It would be totally crazy for them to find a cure on the show - when there isn't one in RL. I guess one of the reason they dropped it in season 7.. |
