I don't know the whole story, either. Just that the image was a fanart - I remember seeing it on tumblr, tagged with the name of the author and everything. How it ended up being used by an actual theater is a mystery.

Yea that's pretty much what I heard someone saw it thought that it was the really poster and made a cardboard cutout of it and but it up in the theater.
