It's ridiculous they treated Bash like such an unimportant character. If they were going to kill him, he couldn't even get an onscreen death? Why even kill him? He should have been there at the end.

or since they didn't even show/mention it and hes tech a made up character, why not just give him a happy end..

Yeah, killing him off screen just seems so unnecessary.

Like you said, they might as well have given him a happy ending. Unless they had something else planned for his character that they just couldn't execute because of the quick cancellation?

I don't know... I just think they could have handled it much better.

i just assume since they made it all the way to the end of her life that the show just went out organically

Well, it was my understanding that they were certainly hoping and planning on getting a fifth season (where we would have seen Mary's marriage to Bothwell, etc.) They were informed of the cancellation when they were in the middle of preparing and filming the Season 4 finale. They had time to re-work the last episode (adding the ending with Mary's death and afterlife with Francis), and that's it.

That seems pretty quick to me.

I looked it up, and the CW announced the cancellation on December 7, 2016. The finale aired on June 16, 2017.

welp maybe they would've gotten another season if things didn't get progressively worse and made less sense..

Yeah, unfortunately I agree. For me, the show just became harder to engage in during Season 3 and 4. I still cared about the characters and the fandom (and there were some things I enjoyed), but I wasn't as personally invested.
