From what I've heard, Amanda's role is more now than it was in the early episodes.

Actually, Amanda didn't have much of a role in Colony's S2, either. I certainly wouldn't recommend watching it just for her (I did, and was disappointed. ) But she does have a pretty interesting arc throughout episodes 10 to 13, and those episodes definitely feature her best acting yet (I find her a lot more convincing that in the Mentalist, actually).
