"That’s why I had so much fun with Eric’s character. He’s presented as the "bad" guy. People are quite lazy in a way they want to be fed in a way. It’s like, okay he’s the good guy, bad guy, and the girl. Right. And then you eat your popcorn. But then when Godric appeared and you realize, wait a minute. He actually cares about this guy. And there’s some warmth in there. I find that dramatically very interesting because then people go like, wait no, no, no that, that was, I was rooting for this guy but this was the bad guy."

He really does. And to think..they initially had him audition for the part of Bill He read the book before he audition and couldn't figure out why...since there was you know...a blonde viking vampire

He thought the same thing! I think it was that they wanted him for the pilot and Eric didn't show up til episode 4.
