He was described as older, uglier and not so sympathetic. I mean yes he was but nothing compared to show Jorah. Everyone loves show Jorah.

I have only read part of the first book and didn't like it, so i was also skeptical about the show. But must say this is one of those few cases where I think the show is a lot better than the books. Another example would be the hunger games.

I know for many it's sad that GRRM doesn't seem to be able to finish the books. but for me it's mostly important to see the show being completed.

Book Jorah is a "nice guy" imo. He's way too pushy about his feelings for a young girl going though so much trauma. I wanted to slap him when Dany pretty much offered him an out when she found out about his spying on her and he declined it. She said he'd need to beg for forgiveness because the people can't see her as too lenient but she'd pardon him if he did...and he refused because he didn't think he did anything wrong when he was spying as he didn't know her well back then. She actually tried to not exile him but his stubbornness meant she pretty much had to. Then he sulks with prostitutes who look like Dany till he runs into Tyrion.

Show Jorah is a boss. He's much more selfless about his feelings, he's not sleazy, and his fierce loyalty is really touching. Iain Glenn kills it in this role, totally transformed this character.

i am super glad we got another Jorah in the show who isn't so pushy and is more protective and understanding.

I agree, it's really nice that Dany has had someone genuine on her side through everything, who just wants to do right by her rather than benefit himself.
