This is basically how I feel. I am done with Westeros even if the writers are not the same, it's a prequal and we know how worthless the ending of the original story is. House Targaryen gets ended by what looked like a bad case of PMS vs severe brain degeneration, it goes out with a whimper which is so disappointing.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Renewal Is Very Likely, Confirmed By HBO Exec

How much faith can you put in a prediction of a season 2 renewal when the pilot hasn't even aired yet? Seems a bit premature.

There is zero chance they wouldn't renew this. They dumped like 30 million into a pilot that they rejected.

These big shows usually garner enough attention to at least get a season 2 in any case.

I can see that too, people don't expect much from it but could be positively surprised, it likely won't be on the same level as early GOT, but maybe on par with season 5-6 of got or the witcher.
