Yes, but not for the Song of Ice and Fire (aka GOT books) but it's rather a prequel to the saga about the history of the 7 Kingdoms before GOT happened. It's called "Fire & Blood" and focusses on House Targaryen.

he said it but we don't know if he will. he writes more prequels and other stuff lately.
here is a good overview: Book Category | George R.R. Martin currently we are waiting for book 6 "Winds of Winter". and even book 7 "A Dream of Spring" is planned and considered as finale. __________________
