I am going to miss their relationship it was bizarre at times...but in a way it did make sense!

Me too, it was always one of my favorite parts of the show. I think one of the hard things about finding another show to replace the Following is that the Joe/Ryan dynamic is part of what made it so unique

It didn't make us much sense in S1 but their relationship changed a lot in S2

it did change a lot through the seasons...but in season 3 it showed that they really needed each other...

It felt like everything since season 1 had been leading up to the evermore episode. Like when Joe escapes for the second time and has Ryan at gunpoint in the stairwell. You can see all the anger in him but at the same time he just can't bring himself to pull the trigger.

I think by season 3 they had both realized how much they fed off each other, although obviously Joe was more self aware about it

They really struck gold with KB and JP's chemistry. Kevin Bacon needs to guest star in James's new show

I wonder how the writers wanted their relationship to go from the beginning. Like were they flying by the seat of their pants every season? Or was there a general plan... like we know their was an alternate ending for S2 where Joe died.
