{Quotes}
This is a place TV hasn't visited before, where you want to linger, and people you haven't seen
on TV before whom you want to know better.
- USA Today

One of the best-written, all-around sparkling works to come along in many a summer season. - The Wall Street Journal

An hourlong seduction. Great writing and acting create a heady mix of glamour, irreverence and responsibility,
a word rarely associated with a sexy drama.
- The Los Angeles Times

Captures that utterly fascinating transformation as he explores 1960 in New York and America at
large, and marks "Mad Men" as essential viewing.
- The San Francisco Chronicle

Mad Men is mesmerizing, and its pedigree is as authentic as the period it re-creates. - The Houston Chronicle

The magic of “Mad Men” is that it softly spoofs those cruel, antiquated mores without draining
away the romance of that era: the amber-lit bars and indigo nightclubs, soaring skyscrapers, smoky
railway cars and the brash confidence that comes with winning a war and owning the world. It’s a
sardonic love letter to the era that wrought “The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit” and “The Best of
Everything,” but homage is paid with more affection than satire.
- New York Times

Crisp as a martini yet spicy as a Bloody Mary, the intoxicating Mad Men goes down smooth and
gives great afterglow but also can leave you with a hangover of unease.
- TV Guide

“How glad I am that the message of smoking, drinking and whoring Mad Men puts across has
registered with the TCAs.”
- John Slattery

No other series transports you to another time and place like this drama. You can almost smell the
smoke billowing out of the offices. Long for a drink when the ice clinks in the glass. And think back
to a time when cell phones and text messaging didn’t exist and typewriters ruled the workplace.
- Zap2it

What makes the show soar is the wonderfully intricate storytelling with some career defining
performances. This show oozes perfection. This is TV at its best.
- Zap2it

The series is a social commentary on not only that era but our era as well. Everyone has a Pete in
their office. Works with someone who isn’t all that he claims to be. Or can relate to wanting to get ahead
despite all obstacles.
- Zap2it

With so many television programs that just seem determined to out-scream the next, "Mad Men"
is like a refreshing glass of lemonade on a hot summer day.
- MSN

Terrifically acted and gorgeously produced, this is a show that's both funny and frightening, that
can simultaneously make you miss the '60s and feel blessed that they're gone. If it were an ad for
scripted TV, it would persuade you to invest. If this is the future of TV, the future's looking good.
- USA Today

Thanks Lexi.

i don't know if i said this here, but i was actually pulling for don and betty to reunite at the end of two. the thing that ruined that for me, oddly enough, was betty banging that guy in the bar.
I hated that too but she wanted to "settle the score" basically. I doubt she planned on doing it from the start but when the opportunity presented itself I think Betty deep down enjoyed getting back at Don by doing the same thing he had done to her. He didn't have to know about it but it meant a lot for her that she had done that I think.

Thanks for the new thread, Lexi.

As for S4, I finally had mine arrive on Friday. I'm currently listening to the commentary with Jane and Cara on "The Chinese Wall" right now. Though I haven't listened to the ones on the first two discs. I started with "The Suitcase" and worked from there.

I just wish she had done it before she found out she was pregnant. But then that would've been a Maury Povich storyline.

But I don't think there would have been a one-night-stand if she hadn't been pregnant..she was about to break free from her marriage, and then she got pregnant, and she was trapped again. So she did the only thing she could do to experience a little freedom...I don't blame her at all for that! How many times Don has done the same thing?

I don't blame her at all for doing it either. It was just a little icky to me that she did it while being pregnant, lol. But I loved when she came home afterwards and ate a piece of chicken. I thought that was hilarious.

Yeah, it was a bit icky but by that point I don't think Betty even cared, lol. She just wanted to do the thing she had only fantasized about.

Oh the chicken, lmao. Great scene.

I think that's three or four, Lexi. I think three. But that also has The Suitcase, so think wisely.
