Yay on the new thread!

1. JCS the hostel is booked from Jan 31st til Feb 4th which means 4 nights. We're paying 3, you get 4th for free, just like they said on their site. The woman I talked to assured me there's no curfew and since I didn't know when your flight is I said I'll be there late in the evening on Thursday 31st, around 8-9 p.m. Obviously if you're there earlier just say it was booked by me and it'll be fine. I didn't have to pay anything. The credit card number they wanted is just a guarantee in case I don't come they'll charge me one night. Anyway like I said it's ₤42 for the stay We still have a lot of time to work out the details and you have my cell number in case I'm drastically offline (like right now... *cries a little*)

2. We definitely need to pretty up the opening post. And man, it's sad that there's only 3 people on our fan list

3. I LOVE that pic you posted! Is it me or VK is going back to his omgsoskinny self? I gotta check the lj. The girl's on my flist but I've been so freakishly busy lately, I had hardly time to do anything fun on the net

4. Any news on the dvds?

ETA: I still enjoy Lost BTW. Mostly because I don't expect too much and I'm happy as long as I get angry SK sex and shirtless Sawyer What can I say... I'm shallow like that

Well, we're pretty much the only 3 in here discussing the show. But, other people have popped in from time to time.

If anyone else wants added just let me know.

I still haven't heard any news on the DVD.

Do - I'm with you on Lost.

Boo for no fun net time.

Saw this today.

Add me to the list please.

I'm so happy that Mad Men is being recognized especially , the ensemble nomination. I think the entire cast is perfect.

OMGSQUEE! Ok they better win in this category. Come on, I used to love GA but it's pure soap (and got even worse these past 2 seasons) and BL has been around for ages, just as Sopranos! Can't say much about The Closer though coz I've never seen it... Still MM FTW

I gotta say I'm so torn between Jon and MCH in lead category though... Seriously they're both excellent and Dexter was already snubbed enough... I dunno. Any of these 2 winning would be awesome.

ETA: Was it posted here?

Quote:
Jon Hamm: As Mad Men's man of mystery, he lit up our screens with the masculinity of Humphrey Bogart crossed with the sophistication of Cary Grant. I was surprised to look at his IMDb.com entry and see that he has had regular roles on several other shows. If I didn't know better, I would think AMC had brought him back from 1960 in a time machine.
Quote:
Vincent Kartheiser: Last seen absolutely creeping me out on Angel with his wildly inappropriate and skeezy relationship with Charisma Carpenter's character, Kartheiser broke out with his role as the smarmy, ambitious Pete on Mad Men. I'm really looking forward to next year's season, when Pete will (presumably) have to deal with being the father to Peggy's illegitimate child.
Hee! How awesome that is?!

Also I have an ad to prepare for the graphics class and I was toying with the idea of making a poster for MM. Here's an idea for the first page but I'm kinda stuck with the 3 others... I mean I'm pretty sure I want the second one to be a general comment on what MM is and the 2 others showing aspects of 1960 and today but I'm still looking for good ideas. Help?

I jumped out of my chair! That awesome! I love it when our boys get mentioned! How many lists is MM no.1 on now? I only ask for cheer pleasure

BTW, Rich Sommers is a dad. He had a little girl a couple of days ago. Congrats sweetie! You seems to be the most wonderful dad ever.
Speaking of which, there is a answering-your-questions-thingy on the MM-site with Rich. Cute. Sounds like they are pretty close friends<3<3<3<3

Planetickets. Ordered.

*Pours down into a corner*

Latest no.1:

Quote:
1. "Mad Men," AMC

Vividly atmospheric, this drama about 1960 Madison Avenue execs and the women they harassed looked like a 1960 movie, from the clouds of smoke and rivers of liquor to the lighting techniques and acting styles. Jon Hamm, John Slattery and Vincent Kartheiser are all terrific as ad men whose primary product is themselves, and what you see isn't always what you get. No DVD date yet.

Do - All it took was fpr me to see Keanu's name and I was like oh no. But, I'll hope for the best.

I'm really hoping Mad Men takes that category. Totally deserves it!

Like you, I'm torn between JH and MCH. I'll be happy either way.

Yep, it was posted here, but it doesnt hurt to see it agin. I love that they were on the breakout star list.

I like your first page. My brain is a bit fried tonight, but I'll try to help think of ideas.

JCS - I've seen MM mentioned on pretty much every list I've seen.

Maria - I hope it encourages your friend to watch it.

I swear they better have better ratings the next season than they had this year. A show that is mentioned so many times and absolutely always in extremely positive words should at least intrigue some new fans right? People can't be that stupid to snub it right?

Oh and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Happy Holidays to you guys too. I probably won't be around much the next couple of days with all the holiday stuff going on.

I think Mad Men being on all these lists will definitely encourage more people to watch the show when it comes back. Or pick up the DVDs when they come out.
