Serena- I loved her from the pilot. I Liked her flaws and all. I always found fandom only liked her when it came to hating on others.

Blair- I liked her s1 but I just couldn't with her pettiness. She thought she was better than everybody else when she was the most judgy of all. She was just triggering for me cause she was a glorified version of every school bully.

Dan- I loved him from start to finish. He was my problematic fav. Unapologetically harsh and judgemental even of himself. I have yet to see a character who embraced self love the way he did and gave 0 ****s about it. It might make him hard to love but the only time I disliked him was when he became a self-loathing shell of himself in s5. Hard to love but love him I did.

Chuck- was horrible but atleast he grew up. That's all I can say without starting something.

Vanessa- ugh. So much wasted potential

Jenny- can you say interesting. I had trouble rooting for her but by late s2 I was all for little j coming out on top.

Nate- I hated the spineless dufus for over a year but he won me over slowly and became one of my favs.

Rufus: trash
Lily: more trash
Bart: glad he died twice
William:biggest pile of trash

For me it was the last straw when she tried to blackmail Blair into doing some dirty work for her, for literally no reason at all, and then had the nerve to complain to dan the next episode when Blair out manoeuvred and humiliated her!! Which was always going to happen, hence why she's queen in the first place  She played the victim and made it sound as if Blair and chuck just decided to screw her over on a whim, and even though it gave us the GOLD 'that little troll Vanessa' Blair line, it still pissed me off so much. I couldn't stand when her and dan got judgemental without merit because it made them hypocrites, but at least dan had some positive qualities as well lol. Vanessa just came across as jealous and petty

That's what rubbed me the wrong way about her, coming in between Dan and Serena.

Yeah I don't think this thread needs to be bogged down by my hate for them.

Yeah me too!! It just pissed me off how familiar she was, coming through the fire escape and assuming Serena was a bitchy air headed trust fund baby with no real personality, and not that she was a great person who dan had real feelings for. SO judgemental and unfair, argh haha still feel the anger when I watch those episodes now  the season 2 Blair/Chuck debacle was also the lowest point for her imo lol

:lmao: definitely not biased I hated her on sight she's just exactly the kind of tv character I cannot stand!! And I find that no matter who people ship, not liking her is (usually) the one thing people can agree on lol

I liked rufus and lily enough in season 1, and then rufus just went downhill more and more each season until rock bottom in season 6. Lily I liked on and off, off usually due to how she was treating Serena. And it was complicated as I loved her relationship with Chuck.. but I didn't like how that warmth and unconditional love she seemed to Grow and show towards him (as lovely as it was) wasn't there in the same way for Serena (and Eric). And there was the awful absence in their child/ preteens that had an such an underrated effect on them, which never got addressed to the level I wanted

I am almost done with Season 2. I love Dan/Blair, Chuck/Blair, Chuck/Serena friendship, Nate/Vanessa/Chuck Nate/Blair/Chuck/Serena trios and foursomes. I love NJ and NV a lot, also NB is killing me. Those were nates good pairings.

Chuck and Serena were amazing in the grandfather episode, which I just watched the other day! They totally acted like true siblings and Serena was such a good friend to him. And they were both amazing for Blair, trying to keep her safe and protect her, I LOVE that trio. And also that Serena ships CB haha

I think this episode also shows how much Serena understood Blair, and chuck, which I feel people underestimated a lot. I also loved Blair and Nates talk in that episode, all 3 tried to help her in the ways that they could! I think it was great that whilst she couldn't accept chuck and serenas help at that time, as they know her best and therefore were the hardest to face, she could turn to Nate  It's episodes and moments like these which is why this show will always be my favourite

Alexa 02-11-2017 10:09 PM

i liked the chuck/serena interaction too, that was fun.

My babies :bawl: :melt: I hated that we didn't get much of Chuck & Serena dynamic in the last season. I still love it for many things but Season 6 also lacked a lot for many things as well. NOT ENOUGH NOT ENOUGH! :sigh::D

Everyone ships CB kih kih ;)

Alexa 02-12-2017 11:51 PM

everyone as in, not everyone?

Dan and Serena are my absolute favorites on this show. I've rewatched Season 1 and 2. I didn't like how they changed at all.

No we definitely didnt get enough chuck/serena in the last season (did we even get any?? I can't even remember one scene ) and I was really annoyed about that, and we didn't get enough SB either. Let alone the NJBC. I really did enjoy the CB but there wasn't even that much focus on them either, and there are other important Components to gossip girl too, and I'm gutted they didn't honour them like they should've. there were far too many ridiculous side plots (Bart, rufus/ivy/William), and Serena with her band of guest stars irritated me from season 3 onwards, it was a huge disservice to her character, and I'll never not be annoyed about the stupid Steven storyline in season 6. They had everyone at either rock bottom or at cliffhangers in the season 5 finale and they shouldn't have done that unless they were going to have more time, or put more effort into resolving those situations. DS were taped back together without any real effort and so was Serena/Blair. Instead of Steven they should've had more of Serena working through her issues of why she felt so unhappy and alone the previous season, or a damn career, and I would've loved them to have gone into some of the long standing issues of SB that weren't just about DB. The finale was a good end to a disappointing season (gossip girl reveal aside obvs) and I just wished they had utilised the potential they had in those last episodes.

LOL http://i48.tinypic.com/351iv7d.jpg god I love them

Aw season 1 and 2 :( so many emotional moments in these seasons, a lot More on average than the rest. The chuck/Blair scenes were heartbreaking, and I think the episode where Bart dies the first time is some of the best work Ed's done on the show

This is probably my favourite (and saddest) derena scene, it gave me a lot of feels - it's like Leighton, when Blake cries it makes me tear up :( and dan looks HOT

http://33.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lb...so1_r1_500.gif

And this scene makes me cry even now! Probably my favourite scene of the series. before this scene I wasn't really drawn in emotionally, it was just another teen show. But this moment was SO amazing, I loved seeing the raw human side of Blair for the first proper time, she was heart wrenching, and serenas remorse was just so moving. Leighton and Blake killed it.

lessismore 02-13-2017 12:44 PM

Agreed a lot! I love that bed scene :lmao: In season 6 SC had only a scene in 6x5 where Chuck was leaving his suit and Serena came to talk to Nate. "Serena..." "Hey Chuck. Bye Chuck"... :sigh: :sigh::rolleyes::rolleyes: Honestly I get what they tried to do but in general those ideas suck at execution. Nothing felt enough.

Since her show is coming up soon Leighton is so active lately ;)

Finally: What is Blair Waldorf doing in 2017?

Ohhhh... let's see... when we last left Blair Waldorf, she had a kid with Chuck Bass, and she was running her own fashion company. And I think it was going really well, wasn't it? So in 2017, Blair Waldorf is probably about to debut her new fashion line. She's probably doing New York Fashion Week! She's got a runway somewhere.

Will the clothes be amazing?

Obviously.
When we left off it was 5 years ff to 2017 actually, so we left off Blair where we saw her happily married to Chuckles, having Henry and running her own company. So yeah probably she must have had a new fashion line as well. So cute :melt: :D

"I think I'm different," Meester explained while talking about making the transition from the beloved CW show to Fox. "I started Gossip Girl 10 years ago when I was 20, and I'm 30 now. I loved doing it, and now I'm doing something else that I love, and something new that's a little bit more my taste as a 30-year-old, something I've grown into. I feel so lucky that I can have such amazing fans, and they either grew up with [the show] or they're growing up with it now. I've also heard people say, ‘Oh, we watch that as a throwback,’" Meester recalled of the cult classic, which was set on the Upper East Side and ran for six seasons.
Gossip Girl will never die ;)

Are you guys excited for her new show? Making History airs on 5 March!

Alexa 02-13-2017 11:57 PM

i wont be watching.

i hate the blonde on leighton, it just completely washes her out.

Forwood4Bamon 02-14-2017 07:34 AM

I love Serena/Carter too in Season 3. then comes the trifecta vs endgame. I like the DV friendship, I loved NV.

Greysjolex 02-14-2017 08:35 AM

Yeah, and it's a shame because I've just been watching clips of the last 2 seasons and I'm going to try not to in future - I know that most of them were really fed up with the show by that point (and with the dodgy writing who could blame them) but unfortunately it really does show up in the acting an awful lot. There's a lot of scenes where Leightons voice is just so high pitched and slightly whiny, and pretty much unrecognisable to her season 1/2 voice/acting. It's really hard to look past sometimes :( same goes with Blake, she seems so stiff and wooden in a lot of scenes, I just think a lot of them were really phoning it in for the last part of the series. Whereas watch any single scene from season 1, even 2, and everything is full of emotion and heart, from the WHOLE cast. It raised the bar on shows like like this.

I think Leighton definitely looks better with brown hair, and it's a shame as she probably thinks she can't have long brunette curls or she'll be associated as Blair for the rest of her life, which she clearly wants to move past. Every time she's asked about it she gives off a slightly resentful impression of the character, saying she's looking for more grown up things, because she wants to move on and people keep reminding her of it. But it's actually a testament to her talent that people are so enamoured with that role - she elevated it to something special with her acting, there was something she gave to that part that no one else could, and it's why people still adore Blair Waldorf and always will. She's been typecast because she was SO GOOD, but I think the only way to move on from that is to make another role her own in the same way. Hopefully she gets on a really successful show Or film that will break it, like Emma Watson is trying to do

Alexa 02-14-2017 10:08 PM

they all seem to have a sort of annoyance with the show, which you cant blame them sometimes because some of the plots were ridiculous but its like... this show gave them their start and they should be more appreciative of it.

Greysjolex 02-15-2017 01:25 AM

Yeah, I mean you can understand why if they are promoting something new and all they got asked about was gossip girl that they would get frustrated, but I think they should probably just accept that they are always going to be asked about it In some capacity, even if it's just one question at the end of an interview. It's almost like every time they do get asked they say 'it was great but that was a different part of my life' lol we get it, but a lot of them haven't done something as memorable (Blake's films aside) since and it's sad that they don't see it's only because people love the show so much and want to get to know the people who play those characters. Last few seasons aside, it wasn't anything to be embarrassed about either, it was a pretty good show.

Forwood4Bamon 02-16-2017 06:36 AM

I am. I've missed seeing her on a weekly basis but apparently there are only 9 episodes :(

lizzybug57 02-16-2017 08:03 AM

That's awesome her new show is starting soon!

I do agree that the blonde hair doesn't look as good on her as dark brown. She's still gorgeous either way though!

I think I'm just not used to seeing her with the other colour you know?

Greysjolex 02-16-2017 03:53 PM

I think she looks really good in the pics of her at the globes party, with the long hair, but I really prefer her dark brunette.

She looks so good here, one of her best looks, dark hair and girl can really pull off a red lip!!!

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...66d89dd285.jpg

And if I had to pick a fave Blair Waldorf outfit of ALL time, would defo be this one and I just loooove her curls too

http://i1111.photobucket.com/albums/...rfMustPie3.jpg

She's so stunning  haha if there's one thing this cast was, it was genetically blessed

Also sorry those pics are so big I couldn't find smaller ones haha

Alexa 02-16-2017 10:36 PM

that second picture

I just remember her hair in the pilot and she looked SO GOOD with the dark brown. like, that really dark color just suits her imo. much better than even the lighter brown.

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...6f63589c51.png

i will say it did look cute with just a few highlights though:

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...6a91c1308e.jpg

her face just glows more when its dark and her dark eyes and thin brows fit brown better.

shes so pretty!
