I really can't decide which scenario I'd prefer. I'd like him to have known about Sherlock's plan because it would explain why he told Moriarty those things. But then I'd also like to see his reaction when Sherlock comes back from the "grave"

I thought Mycroft telling Moriarty those things was the reason Sherlock had to develope that plan in the first place.

I have to agree with Sofia, even though we both could be wrong. In ASIB, Sherlock was one step ahead of Mycroft and John. No one knows that Sherlock actually saved Irene except for Sherlock and Irene themselves. So, methinks Sherlock is one step ahead of his brother after TRF - as always.

ITA! That's why I'm not ruling anything out. In Sherlock's world and according to Sherlock, anything and everything is possible.

I'm more inclined to believe that Irene's fake death(s) gave Sherlock the idea he needed. And, since he kept Mycroft in the dark about Irene being alive, I'm thinking he also kept Mycroft out of the loop on his own death. It would also prob make it more believable if Mycroft seemed "Put out" by his brother's death (to other people I mean).

Yeah but he didn't tell him about Irene to keep her safe. He could have told him about his own plan because he needed his help.
