It sounds like she's up for more X-Men, though she might not sign another multi-picture deal. We'll still just have to wait and see on that front.


I don't see this as a rejection of The Hunger Games, but rather as an acknowledgment and understanding on her part, that that was a finite story and it has been told to completion. She might like the idea of continuing to make movies with all those people, but not to the detriment of the series.

X-Men on the other hand, is not so finite. It can continue for as long as they can dream up new stories. It's much more open-ended in effect.

It's illustrative of the fact that while Jennifer might be led be her heart, she is still pragmatic enough to know when to let her head take over. X-Men will be decided by her heart, Hunger Games (assuming there are attempts to extend Katniss's story) by her head.

They may not tell more story but Jen is right, they will re-tell the same one again. It's ALL about franchises now. Will they even wait ten years to re-boot The Hunger Games?

Does anyone know what Fox's plans beyond Apocalypse might be? Which mutants will they focus on, what time period(s) will be used, will Singer still direct for them? When will they recast Wolverine? I think Kinberg and Shuler are givens and probably Singer as a producer at least. But maybe the rest depends on how the three films next year are received? Hey, did Gambit ever sign Doug Liman to direct? I think about five or six directors have already turned it down. The script must be a dog.

No, to put it bluntly. Simon Kinberg has suggested that they have a plan, but no details have been forthcoming.

The two television shows that were recently announced, do suggest a desire to build the brand on multiple platforms.


Singer's next movie is 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Possibly the most loathsomely dull book ever to be called an adventure story. There is still a solid narrative through line though. that could translate into an exciting cinema experience, in the right hands.

Not sure there's an audience for it, but Days of Future Past (and hopefully Apocalypse) have earned Singer his indulgence, in the hopes of finding that audience.

Singer is also an executive producer on the two upcoming TV shows, and will likely stick around as a producer on the mainline X-flix. If I'd to guess as to whether he'll ever direct another X-Men movie after Apocalypse, I would say 'yes'. He may let others take the reins for a bit though.


Well, they have to make the next Jackman led Wolverine picture first. Then, I would recommend they let the character settle for a bit, and bring him back when the time's right.

But who knows how they'll approach it?


They are apparently still courting Mr. Liman, but I wouldn't jump to any conclusions about the script just yet.

From what she says about 1) wanting to work again with her friends on the X-Men cast and crew and 2) not wanting to spend much time coated in toxic chemicals, I'd guess that she'd prefer to continue as a member of the main X-Men ensemble.
