once you understand what most/all the themes are about, mother! rises to so many levels. i'm not religious or any of that fragile state of mind, so the sheer violence of the thematic imagery only serves to heighten my sense of disgust at what 10 billion two-legged cockroaches are doing to the Natural World, Animal Kingdom, and the finite resources of the late great planet Earth. i cry man-tears for Mother Nature...
Mother! is a subversively great film, going to see it again on Sunday, number 4! |

Yeah, it's gone from the closest theater to me as well. I only went once.
When it get a digital release, I'll rent it. And I'll get the bluray too. |

it's still playing here at the Cinema24 and both dinner theaters, gone from Regal and AMC is replacing it after columbus day. i'm going once more this weekend, still trying to hear Jen's distorted voice sounds in the house, and looking for the children of men imagery during the madhouse scenes.
