I don't see how being proud no one likes their movie to be a good thing.

i saw this item on mother! where the writer suggests that maybe the studio should have released it in 900-1200 theaters as a limited release, instead of the 2300 medium release, and waited to hear word of mouth then added theaters later as 'it' downsized their screens after it's run. also, the writer said it was a huge marketing mistake by the studio to bill it as a horror film entry going up against an actual horror film or sorts, 'it', which was also more 'family-friendly' as a competition. i'm still thinking about mother! and plan to see it again, but if i had kids, hell no would i take them to see mother! the film is too much symbolism and multiple meanings, to make sense to kids and teenagers, you need to have a broader mind and life experiences, than unreality tv and iphone addiction, to appreciate what the filmmaker is saying.

Seems like he just makes stuff to say how shocking his stuff is.

But certainly not good for yourself and getting a budget for something. This certainly wouldn't have gotten made without Jen in it. Sure that's what sold the studios.

well, i liked Noah only because of Emma Watson and Maximus. oh wait.

Requiem was a one-timer, wow i'm still traumatized.

Black Swan was eerie and very twisted and/or suspenseful at times, i watched it for Nat, tbh

i remain a fan of both the Wrestler and The Fountain, for differing reasons.

i watched mother! twice now, purely for Jen, however her performance has heightened the environmental allegory so much more for me, after i understood several things i missed on the first viewing. i am going back for a third time, to hear her distorted voice in the walls/foundation/rooms of the house [earth] which i did not know about the first two times i watched it.

i am a straddle-the-fence type when it comes to DA, tbh, some i like or remain curiously interested, some you can keep, and i'm still thinking about the messages of mother!

Requiem is a film that makes you wanna take a bath in bleach after.

The Wrestler might be his more "normal" movie.

Didn't care for The Fountain. And I liked BS.

I watched it 5 times mainly for Jen's performance alone.
