Might be both. I know some sites get what genres stuff are. the last few DOR films mixed Comedy and Drama well.

David's stuff tends to get classed as comedy, because there's often a lot of humour in it, but he writes drama. Joy will be the same as any other DOR movie in that respect. So 'comedy' is a misnomer I would imagine.

I didn't even see your post. We must have both posted at nearly the same time...

I had to look up who Annie Mumolo was and I see she plays a character on the tv show About a Boy. Robert De Niro is apparently an executive producer on the show.

She's also the co-writer of Bridesmaids. Along with having a small role in that film and This is 40.

we all want this to happen

'The Wolf of Wall Street' star Leonardo DiCaprio may join Jennifer Lawrence in David O Russell's upcoming film 'Joy'. The director is reportedly revising the script for DiCaprio, who has express fleeting interest in the true-story inspired drama, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Russell is also expanding the small role of a QVC executive for his frequent collaborator Bradley Cooper. On top of that, Russell wants to bring in Robert De Niro after working with the actor in 'Silver Linings Playbook'. De Niro has reportedly entered negotiations to play the father to Lawrence's character. Lawrence won the best actress Oscar for her role in 'Silver Linings Playbook' and earned a nomination for 'American Hustle', also directed by Russell.

Yeah, but 'fleeting interest' makes it sound like he's not anymore. Jen and Leo would be great, but the impression I got was that this didn't come to anything...

I had only heard Boston until recently. I think perhaps that CA bit was a mistake. Or maybe there'll be some part of it shot in CA...??
