I'll post more of her Emmy pictures tomorrow. There's so many things to talk about from yesterday's episode.

Michelle was wonderful. From her very first to the very last scene, all outstanding. I can feel every emotion from Mary. She didn't want to wear any color, she feels detached to George, and she's always off on her own and staring off into the distance. Her angry retort over dinner in-front of the family and the servants was acted out very well. Of course, I lost it during the whole Carson/Mary scene. That was very difficult to watch. And just remembering it now makes me upset all over again. I needed to see Mary like that, grieve and cry because Matthew is dead. So I'm glad we saw that. That end scene I love because if I can see Mary back 'from the dead' and willing to move on for Matthew, then I am too.

The scene with Mary and Carson was really heartfelt, he was there when she needed a hug, bless, and was more like a dad to her than her real one, who was incredibly patronising towards her, glad she saw sense and decided to join the real world again.

Shame about the Emmy, and not too sure about the red dress, I think she could have done better.

Michelle/Mary was perfect.
She stayed during six months in the bereavement but she finally comes to live. The way she did it was like what I expected: I loved when she didn't want "live" but then understood that she must be here for her son and Downton.

I loved all her scenes with Carson and Tom so I'm glad they were here for Mary.

Michelle broke me. I cried throughout the whole episode and just couldn't stop with here scenes with Maggie Smith and Carson. They were so beautifully done.

She's lost but shes going to fight for herself, her son and for matthew the scenes with her with all the men was a fantastic note to end on.

Don't get me wrong, I am so proud of Mary that she's back to life and wants to take care of Downton, for Matthew's and George's sake.

But am I actually the only one considering six months to be really not that much when your husband's died?!

Yes, I think it's true to say she wouldn't just shake out of her grief on the six months deadline, but this tends to be a show that takes a few liberties, as much as I like it, I've sighed more than once with some storylines in Downton.

Exactly. I don't know. I just kept crying the whole time. For me, 6 months isn't a long time to grieve the love of your life. But I do like that she made an effort to at least try for the sake of Matthew & George. I'm actually feeling a bit protective of Mary & George now. And honestly with men coming into the picture soon to woo Mary, I don't think I'm ready for it.

Anyway, I'll post here some pictures of Michelle from Emmy weekend. And also there are so many amazing Mary gifsets from last Sunday's episode that I want to post here but I don't want to make this a massive post so feel free to post them all here.

Thanks for those Lindsay, liking the black post Emmy's dress, more than the red one.

Nothing has to be said. Look at that breathtakingly beautiful woman and you'll be speechless, anyway.

She's gorgeous.
I love the two dresses but the red one will be better without the big node behind.

Mary had a bereavement of six months and it seems be not a lot but I think she's still devasted. To me she takes the "living" face in front of the others and trys to be strong and create a bond with her son. But in reality she's always the same and wants cry at all moments.

Yeah, I'm not too crazy about the two-toned dress at the Emmys. She looks spectacular at the BAFTA party and the HBO party though.

I most certainly don't want her to move on easily. There are just too many memories around the house that remind me of Matthew too.

I was crying right alongside Mary in the very last pic.

I love how Mary was at the dinner.
Really heartbreaking but so strong and I loved what she said.
And the scene with Carson is too beautiful.
I expected a scene like this with Cora but Carson was like her father so it's most beautiful yet.

Thanks for the gifs Lindsay.
