I saw an article a few days ago, and it said that ABC Family would be announcing their renewals at the end of the summer this year.

I am not sure what they mean by that, or if it was even accurate. If so, though, we may have to wait a few more weeks.

My guess is we will hear something soon after the summer season finales air.

But we can hope for sooner!

Probably closer to the finales.

Last year was July 30th, but the year before that was August 17th so

I'm not sure why they'd wait so long unless they just really want to see all of the ratings for all of the shows, but you would think they have a pretty good idea by now.

But oh well, hope for sooner, but be prepared that it might be a week or two more.

Good to see it went up in demo some this week. I'd still like to see it go up some in total viewers but as long as the demo stays at 0.6 the show should be OK.

I swear abc family has basically stopped promoting this show. I never see promos for it.

The Fosters only received a .5, too. It seems to be the way the season is going.

I think more people are tuning in via their tablets and phones, and that doesn't get recorded in the ratings. Hopefully, the networks realize that.

Fosters has a lot more viewers. Also the promos they do have suck. Like the promo for 3x20? Omg so boring.

Lousy ratings for both Switched and The Fosters this week. No other way to put it. The fact that the show is doing quite poorly this summer does not bode well for a return in the winter, where it will have double the competition it does now. Hate to say it but my gut is saying news of a final short-season order is coming.

I have read numerous times that total number of viewers means absolutely nothing to the network and they only look at demo.

But I have no idea if the people writing that comment (all over the Internet) even know what they are talking about. Have you ever seen that mentioned?

I still believe the network is taking into consideration that young people (their coveted demographic) are watching on tablets. They realize Neilsen has not yet caught up with the trend. I don't think the networks are as panicked about the lower numbers, as we are. I've read articles that say networks and media buyers are aware of the situation. They have no choice to be patient until Neilsen starts tracking tablets, which may be soon.

I disagree with GRITS83. I do NOT think the ratings bode poorly for a full-order Season 4, this winter.

Either way, we will know soon, and that makes me happy!
