KCJenna: That's a very, very good assessment. I personally find flawed characters more interesting, so I suppose that's why characters like Belle and Kathryn don't particularly interest me. I do like aspects of Kathryn, though... Anyway, I find there's a much bigger reward in having a flawed, fallen character find redemption in some form. And I agree, he's definitely in need of a savior.

It's funny you mention Snow, because after seeing a kink meme prompt, I realized that Henry looks more like Gold and Mary's son, LOL. I don't really see a resemblance between him and Emma at all.

Oh, that'd be wonderful! I love the actor who plays Bae, so if he could come back the same age, that'd be FAR more preferable. And I'm glad you said "future seasons," because a lot of people are acting like this is the first and last. We still don't know everything there is to know, and the ratings did far too well for them to just drop it. I'll admit I thought "Maybe..." at first 'cause of Belle being in the finale, but I still feel it's too soon.

Ilda: Exactly! Regina does nothing but better things for herself, while Gold will actually help others out (albeit secretly). I suppose it could be argued that Gold's being motivated for selfish reasons, but I still say Gold is FAR more pure of heart than Regina could ever be. He's redeemable. She's.....semi-redeemable, I guess, but I don't consider her a good candidate for redemption. She's nothing more than a spoiled brat.

Awww! That'd be the sweetest show finale ever! I'd love for them to be a royal family, too, but if I can't have that, I at least want a kiss at some point.

Eliza: Hey, like I said, Swan Queen is technically a type of incest, and people go for THAT like crazy, so I wouldn't worry about it. Although I'm sure people will lay it on thick since we're a "hated" pairing, but I'm good at ignoring fans.

You know, that's a VERY good question...I have no idea. Since she's the savior, perhaps Emma will help him find Bae?? I just...Idk. o-O By this point maybe he's given up on finding him, and just wants to make Regina suffer?

Speaking of questions, I saw people theorizing on Facebook that

o__O Why are they doing that? Rumple will never, EVER love anyone more than he loves Bae, and I think it was made pretty darn clear in 1x19. If anything, I feel that when he said, "I care for my powers more than I care about you," he secretly meant he cared for Bae more. And who wouldn't? That's his son...family always comes first. He didn't make the curse because of Belle, he made it to find Bae again. I still say he doesn't even know she's alive, so speculating about him wanting to find her is silly.

Wow, LOVE those gifs! Is it just me, or does Gold look really upset/pained? I'm sure it's partially because of finding out August isn't Bae, but without the words, he looks really, really upset.

I don't want people to find new reasons to dislike our pairing and I don't want to think "Gold is Henry's grandfather" or "grand, grand, grandfather" everytime I see him on screen that's why I hope it won't happen

I would not call it stupid but I completely agree with you I'm a mom myself. The love you feel for your child is different than the love you feel for your husband. It is impossible to compare really. I would be seriously concerned if it would not feel different, if you know what I mean The intensity of the feeling might feel the same sometimes, like your heart is going to burst of joy at seeing either of them, true, but is still not something you'll think about it, ever! simply because no parent ever compares the feelings.

And as a side note to that: I believe that Emma and Gold understand each other in ways that no other characters do in SB. Why? because Mary Margaret has no recollection of her child and Regina is not Henry's mom really and her reasons for keeping Emma away from Henry are definitely not related with motherly feelings. On top of it, Emma and Gold both try to get their children back in a manner of speaking. And that can be a powerful link if the writers decide to pull their act together!

See, I might not root for them as a ship but I definitely like them together...

I'm so happy we're onto the tenth thread and the OP is just JBDSKJDSHLKJDGHHDCG. And the thread title is so very true. I laughed really hard at Jen's quote about Rob's make-up.

And the scene of the moment. Anyone else got the impression Gold spared August's life because he knows Emma cares about him and that his death would upset her?

I think Emma's life and Rumple's are really mirrors of each other. They seem to be presented with the same situations or choices but they just happen to take the opposite path and their intents are different. I saw that this episode when Rumple sort of let go of his kid which could be analogous to Emma giving Henry up for adoption. And Rumple in the Ogre wars is like Emma in a war with Regina/the curse thing. We'll see how far Emma goes to get Henry back and how she'll go about doing it.

I'm also wondering why Gold wants Emma to believe in the curse and therefore break it. It has to lead back to Bae so I'm wondering if he wants to harness/use her true love power to find his kid? The weird thing is when he said true love was the strongest power or something along those lines and he bottled up Snow/Charming's, why didn't he just cast a spell to locate and get to Bae then using the potion? Why the need for this huge elaborate plan just to get to this land? Also I find it hard to believe he didn't know about Jefferson if Regina did, since he's obviously more powerful than her. Couldn't he have used Jefferson's hat to transport to whatever world he needed to go to?

Jenna, the parallels between Gold and Emma are definitely one of the reasons why I love them so much. And I love your mirror analogy because it goes along with my current icon, titled "Reflections."

Yeah, Gold wanting to break the curse doesn't really make sense to me. I'm assuming going back to FTL would turn him back into the Dark One, and he hasn't even found Bae yet. Perhaps Gold has figured out a way to stay in our world even if the curse is broken, and wants to break it for other reasons?

Since I got such lovely comments about my discussion art at the Gold/Emma livejournal and someone there asked to see it without the text, I thought I would share it here.



I have to agree about the parallels between Gold and Emma, it makes me adore them even more. Aside from their incredible chemistry those parallels could potentially create a bond between the two that would be lovely to see.

I shall make gifs, I'm just slow and working on something else too. But I do need to start on some parallel gifs. I have seen some gifs of the scene on tumblr as well.

I'm kinda glad that Emma confronted Sidney, though it would have been good if she could have tricked him and caught Regina through that...but I guess that's not supposed to happen in the story because Sidney is supposed to take the fall for her and everything.

I just thought that Rumpelstiltskin created the curse because didn't Regina say something along those lines? Or am I remembering wrong? And I agree, Bae could have ended up somewhere in this world but not Storybrooke. That means he wouldn't be affected by the curse either right?

I had the same question as you. Why would Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin want the curse to be broken if he hasn't found Bae yet? That's one thing I don't get.

I realize now that Gold said to August "Maybe it's enough" regarding Emma trusting August. I could've sworn he said "maybe it's love" but then I rewatched it last night and corrected myself. Phew! Glad he didn't say what I thought he did. But he still sounded sarcastic when he said it either way. I love his mannerisms and facial expressions, also that was one of the best Gold-centric episodes I've seen in a while. I want more!
