I think no one was in a better position to convince Emma that magic really exists than Neal. It wouldn't have been easy but he could have done it.

Maybe it's him now, but I doubt the writers even knew who that was in season 2 or they knew and changed their opinion.

They've dropped too many storylines in the past. I just don't believe that they were always thinking everything through and always knew what would happen in future seasons.

Of course it could have been the writer. I always thought it was Blue, but if so the writers have definitely changed their minds about it.
