Yep!

I think Rumple is definitely going to die- but even though it will be crushing to see, as Belle's was, to me it's a good thing. He's centuries old, he's admitted he's pretty much lived too long, and he's just had the happiest, 60 years anyone has ever had. Adam and Eddy said he's ready to move on - and he is; he's accepted death, he's embracing it because he knows he will see Belle again. Oh and I want to add that I love that he DOES believe he will go to the afterlife, that there's no fear of him going to the Underworld again, permanently.

As to his being tested, I suspect that's along the lines of Rumple having to pretend to be Weaver - which I assume will run through the rest of the year, as he's certainly going to work to defeat Victoria/Lady Tremaine. That probably comes with many temptations - but honestly, I'm not worried at all.

Irish, thank you for your comments about my Eternal love post. As you can see, I can get very long-winded when it comes to my babies!

I think we also have to remember that, besides his wife being gone, Rumple was cursed to be a corrupt cop for, what, ten years? That's probably going to affect his personality and actions even now that he's awake.

Yeah, it's funny how so many people want to see Rumple die. :) But it's knowing that he had such a happy life with Belle and he's also lived for centuries so it's not like we are really wrong to want it. ;)

I was just going to post on this matter. Two things:

One:

I want Rumple to bring the Guardian with him to his and Belle's home in the Edge of Realms (where Gideon is waiting), so that he can hand the dagger to him (or her) and die peacefully at home, surrounded by all that he and Belle built together. Of course he can be buried next to her, which is a given that he’d want.

Two:

It’s not so much about Rumple’s death as it is about his finally getting to rest... Those are the words of the prophecy, that the Dark One will finally get to rest……and that’s being portrayed as a good thing, which to me makes perfect sense.

Most Dark Ones have very likely lived extremely long lives, and Rumple has lived by far the longest - over 300, close to 400 years. As he’s said, he’s lived too long - immortality is not natural and it’s not a positive thing; I’ve never seen it portrayed as such, anywhere, in any medium.

Without Belle, Rumple is simply tired of life; his body (despite not having aged) is very likely worn out to a degree and so is his mind. It’s time for him to go - that is a very natural thing to want. He’s seen Gideon grow up to become a beautiful, loving, caring man who’s had and will continue to have a wonderful life full of adventure. What more could he want? What more DOES he want? What he wants is different, I think, than what some fans want for him - or want him to want. Everything he’s doing now is completely in character for him.

Keep in mind that Rumple lived 60 plus years with Belle - and at least 10 after she’s died; he’s an old man no matter what he looks like, an old man whose soul aches to be with Belle again……..

I’ll be happy for Rumple when he dies and he can be with her for all Eternity

***I'm pretty sure he lived 10 years in EF@ before HH (which is present)............ugh, that kills me even more

I adore their little house they built with their own hands. I always wanted them to go back to the Dark Castle, and I'm glad they did for a few years, but I just love that little house on the Edge of Realms. Beautiful.

And yes, he's lived so long, that I am actively rooting for him to die now, LOL. But we all understand why. That it's not that his life is being cut short. It's been unnaturally long and he's tired and most of all he just wants to be with his soulmate. I loved what either Adam said about how their souls belong together.

I also want Neal/Bae to be waiting for him as well. I never liked that he appeared after death only to Emma. He and Rumple should have had a scene as well, imo.

Rumple has lived beyond his years and him wanting to die is not suicide as some have said but more of an acceptance that he lived a long and fulfilling life and now it's time to go home and be with his family. It will be sad for Gideon losing his papa after his mama but I know he will be happy that they are together and he will see them again when it is his time to go.

Bae/Neal's death was sad because he had so much to live for but Rumple's isn't as sad and tragic as Neal's because he is ready and it is his time.

Based on Adam and Eddy's post-"Beauty" comments, Rumple is likely going to have to go to the Underworld to find Belle in order for their reunion to happen.

Do you mean the UW we already saw with Hades? Because wasn't that a place for people with unfinished business? I'm not sure that Belle has any unfinished business unless it's Rumple losing his curse. But she lived a good life and was a wonderful person so I'm not sure she wouldn't go directly beyond that UW we saw. Unless as a Dark One, when he dies Rumple has to go to the UW and Belle would have to plead his case for him.:)

But I just, imo, think they'll just do a scene where he dies and Belle is either there to usher him into the next life or he dies and his spirit goes back to an afterlife version of their little house and she's waiting for him. :shrug:

I would love to think they would devote a little bit more than a few minutes to this particular part of the story but I'm not sure they will. I'm sure it will be beautiful though. They proved with "Beauty" and a few other moments in past episodes that they can do beautiful.

You can judge for yourself what they were saying, but my 'read' is that their reunion is going to take work beyond Rumple just freeing himself from the Curse of the Dark One and eventually, if not immediately, dying.

All dead souls go to the Underworld, though; it's just that you get stuck there, or did when it was controlled by Hades, if you had "unfinished business" from your mortal existence.
